This presentation will focus on outlining the neuroscience that is moving the addiction field toward a more comprehensive biological, as opposed to a behavioral, model of all addictions including sex and problematic porn use. Additionally, it will dispel the myths that have emerged from unfounded critiques and criticisms of the sex and porn addiction model. Best practices for successful treatment outcomes will be discussed along with how best to educate clients to navigate the labyrinth of competing views about sex addiction treatment.
